The Africa Business Coalition for Health welcomes a new role as the new secretariat of the Corporate Alliance against Malaria in Africa, CAMA.

The African Business Coalition for Health (ABCHealth) is pleased to announce its appointment as the new Secretariat of
Corporate Alliance on Malaria in Africa (CAMA). This development is an important moment in our journey to improve health systems across the continent, as we take the leadership of CAMA from the Global Business Coalition for Health.

CAMA focuses on mobilizing the private sector to drive impactful partnerships for malaria control and eradication in workplaces and communities. It creates opportunities for the private sector to engage with partners and leaders from governments, NGOs, academia and other sectors to increase impact in the fight against malaria. As the new Secretariat of CAMA, ABCHealth will build on the achievements of the past 17 years, providing value to its members in terms of their relative impact in the fight against malaria.

This appointment is an important milestone in GBCHealth’s plan to transform its work to be fully African-led. Placing CAMA’s leadership and management within ABCHealth is a testament to its Transformational Concept to Develop Partnerships and Integrate Health Sector resources to improve healthcare in Africa and transform the way it operates.

ABCHealth works closely with African private sector leaders as well as global organizations to help improve the health and well-being of all Africans.

This new charge to lead CAMA and its esteemed member organizations, as well as the wider Malaria community to collaboratively manage and ultimately eradicate malaria across the continent is a responsibility that ABCHealth is proud to take on.

The founder, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who is also the Chairman of the End Malaria Council of Nigeria, expects to see an increase in the impact of CAMA in Africa now that the organization will be led entirely by Africans.
